The registrant contacts the current registrar, which submits the EPP restore command and required report to the registry. The registrant normally cannot restore the domain directly with the registry.
For many gTLDs the redemptionPeriod stage lasts 30 days, but that duration cannot be assumed for every TLD. Check the applicable registry policy and the domain’s current status.
