Why can't I get a .OD.UA domain if the same name is taken in .ODESA.UA / .ODESSA.UA (and vice versa)?
Domains .OD.UA, .ODESA.UA and .ODESSA.UA have a special “mirroring” feature that prevents different people from registering the same domain name across these zones.
For example, if fish.od.ua already exists, registering fish.odessa.ua or fish.odesa.ua will not be possible.
This happens because when one domain is registered, the remaining two are automatically reserved for the same owner. Interestingly, the domain zone administrator does not mention this mirroring feature on their website. You can usually learn about it only after the fact — for instance, by noticing a note about “domain reservation” in WHOIS or by contacting the zone administrator directly.
Pick up a domain name you always dreamed of
You can register a reserved domain only on behalf of the same owner and through the same registrar. Otherwise, the registration request will be rejected. Please note that each domain needs to be paid for separately.
