At the moment there are more than a thousand different domain zones available for registration. Each such domain has a different price — some higher, some lower.

Why do they all cost differently? In fact, all domains work exactly the same. The price depends on the domain administrator — the company that manages the domain zone registry and allows you to create domains with the specific ending.

The administrator manages the domains and can set any price they want. For some new domains, the price can reach a couple of thousand dollars per year.

The only exceptions are .COM and .NET, which according to ICANN have a maximum price above which the administrator cannot sell domains.

For other domains, the price is entirely dependent on the wishes and decisions of the domain zone administrator, without other limiting factors.
