New rules for registering .RU and .РФ domains will come into effect on November 11.
New rules for registering domain names will come into force on November 11, 2011.
The new rules contain a number of new provisions aimed at ensuring the security of domain names, as well as responding to threats such as phishing, botnets, and viruses.
Specifically, the new rules will make it more difficult for attackers to gain access to other people's logins and passwords, infect computers with viruses, or make them part of a botnet. In response to such actions, users will be able to revoke domain delegation.
The rules were developed over nearly a year. Both professional expert organizations and ordinary internet users contributed to their development.
The rules attempt to introduce out-of-court resolution of domain disputes.
New registration rules were adopted in early October. However, the procedure for resolving domain name disputes is still under discussion.
