3 years in prison for spreading viruses

In Kyiv, a seller of CDs containing malicious software received a 3.5-year prison sentence.

The young man was accused of selling malware designed to interfere with computers and automated systems without authorization. The applications he sold were designed to crack passwords and send spam from other people's computers.

These applications could also be used to hack banking programs and gain access to users' accounts and other confidential information.
