$5,000 for an idea regarding a New gTLD

Afilias, the administrator of the .INFO domain, has offered a $5,000 reward for the best idea on how to use new top-level domains (New gTLDs).

The competition, which offers the opportunity to win this amount, is aimed at stimulating interest in the new New gTLD program.

In this way, Afilias seeks new, unique ideas for using new domain extensions—for domains representing company and brand names, business areas and niches, communities, and cities. The competition's primary goal is to identify ideas for New gTLDs that would only be feasible through new domains and would not be accessible through existing .COM or .NET domain names.

$5,000 is the first prize amount, and users can also win $3,000 or $1,500.

Applications for the competition will be accepted on October 17th, the competition will last only two weeks, and the winners will be announced on October 24th.
