The porn domain administrator blocked more than 4,000 names.

ICM Registry, the administrator of the .XXX domain zone, has blocked over 4,000 names matching the names of famous people. This will prevent such domains from being registered by squatters or malicious users.

As a reminder, ICM Registry began accepting applications for domain name registration in the .XXX zone several days ago. Only certain categories of users can submit such applications until October 28th.

While blocking celebrity domains, the company also reserved approximately 15,000 domain names at the request of companies, organizations, and governments.

The list also included the names of famous politicians, in particular Barack Obama and David Cameron.

ICM Registry plans to exceed half a million .XXX domains by the beginning of the year. The company has already sold over 1,500 domains, earning $4 million.
