Google AdWords now supports non-Latin characters in its URLs.

The Google AdWords advertising system announced that the service now supports non-ASCII characters. This means that non-Latin characters, specifically IDN domain addresses, can be used in Google AdWords web addresses.

Users can specify these characters in both ad and landing page URLs. To ensure users can click the link they specify, the system checks the URLs for Unicode and Punycode compatibility.

However, IDN addresses will only be shown in ads if the link language matches the Google interface language.
