The most common domains entered into the address bar are Facebook and Google.
Analysts have concluded that the most frequently entered domain names are Google search engine and Facebook social network. This data was obtained by analyzing the Fixer plugin for the Firefox browser, which corrects typos in the browser's address bar.
This plugin allows you to change, for example, the google.con address to google.com, of course, if the user has given their consent to this.
The plugin's author analyzed over 7.5 million queries and concluded that users most often manually enter the domain name facebook.com using the keyboard—9% of the time. Google search engine URLs are entered using the keyboard in 3.3% of cases.
In addition, the following domain names are also typed manually: youtube.com (3.3%), gmail.com (1.1%), twitter.com (1.1%), mail.google.com (0.6%), yahoo.com (0.6%), hotmail.com (0.6%), amazon.com (0.5%) and reddit.com (0.5%).
Regarding the breakdown by domain, the domains most often entered into the browser address bar end with .COM (63%), .ORG (4%), .DE (4%), .RU (2%), .HU, .FR, CO.UK and .BR (1% each).
When typing the .COM domain ending, the most common typos people make are: ".com", ".ocm", ".con", ".cmo", ".copm", ".xom", ".com", ".vom", ".comn", ".com'", ".co", ".comj", ".coim", ".cpm", ".colm", ".conm", and ".coom".
