Actress Eva Longoria wins domain dispute
Famous actress Eva Longoria won a domain dispute over the domain name EvaLongoria.org. The complaint was filed with the National Arbitration Forum of the United States under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
Eva Longoria owns the registered trademark "Eva Longoria." The actress has two domains, EvaLongoria.com and EvaLongoria.net, which are linked from her Facebook page.
In her complaint, Eva Longoria claimed the disputed domain was confusingly similar to her trademark, and that the defendant had registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith. Specifically, it was revealed that the previous owner of the EvaLongoria.org domain had decided to auction it off on eBay.
