Amazon accused of patent infringement

Smartphone Technologies has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Amazon for its Kindle Fire tablet computer.

The company frequently sues major tech companies for infringing its patents. Smartphone Technologies has previously sued Apple, Research in Motion, LG, AT&T, Samsung, Sanyo, and Motorola.

The claims against Amazon list the infringed patent numbers. All of these patents are used in absolutely all mobile devices with touchscreens.

Smartphone Technologies believes that Amazon's Kindle Fire infringes a patent issued to the now-defunct Palm.

In total, Smartphone Technologies' lawsuit against Amazon lists five patents for different technologies.
