The US government has cancelled the delegation of domains containing pirated content.
Last week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Border Protection Service blocked more than 70 pirate websites.
When attempting to open such a site, users could see a message on their computer that reads: "This domain has been seized by ICE - Homeland Security Investigations."
Among the affected domains are popular torrent search engines torrent-finder.com, 2009jerseys.com and dvdcollects.com.
Commenting on the decision of the American authorities, the owner of the Torrent-Finder website stated that "the domain was confiscated without prior claims or a court order."
As a reminder, the US Senate recently approved the Combating Online Crime and Counterfeiting Act (COICA), which seeks to abolish the designation of websites engaged in piracy.
