Apple wants to acquire the iTunes.net domain.

Apple has filed a domain arbitration complaint seeking to gain rights to the iTunes.net domain.

To prove its case, the company plans to convince the arbitration panel that the domain name is confusingly similar to a trademark owned by Apple.

The iTunes.net domain, registered in March 2004, is similar in name to the iTunes Store, an online store owned by Apple.

It is noteworthy that the iTunes online store was registered before the iTunes.net domain - in April 2003, which may be the main factor in the success of the domain dispute.
