Apple wants to sue for six domains

Apple filed a complaint with the Domain Name Arbitration Court, demanding that the rights to five domain names be transferred to it, including euroapple.com, euroipad.com, indiaipad.com, ipadaustralia.com, iphonegermany.com and ukipad.com.

In justifying its claim, Apple emphasizes that the company owns the rights to the Apple and iPad trademarks, so it should own these domain names.

The timeframe for these domain name disputes can be quite lengthy, as the WIPO Court of Arbitration examines the similarity of domain names to registered trademarks. Apple may receive the domains if the disputed domain names are confusingly similar to trademarks, or if the owner of the disputed domains uses them in bad faith and misleads users.
