Apple received a patent for an electronic ticketing system.

Apple has received a patent for electronic ticketing. The patented system is called Concert Ticket+. It will allow users to purchase tickets to concerts and other events using their iPhone.

The patent's authors believe the phone could replace paper tickets for concerts, plays, exhibitions, and sporting events. The Concert Ticket+ system will help achieve this.

As part of Concert Ticket+, the company plans to create an app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Users will be able to purchase electronic tickets, store them on their phones, and share them with others.

The system also features ticket control using turnstiles. Users can pass through the turnstile and hold their phone to it, which causes the system to scan the ticket and allow its holder through.

Concert Ticket+ also offers additional benefits to event organizers. For example, they can send mass event information to attendees.
