Apple has acquired control of the ipods.com domain.

Apple won a lawsuit over the rights to the ipods.com domain name. The company filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which recently ruled in Apple's favor.

Experts note that this is one of the first times Apple has won a domain rather than purchased it. Specifically, Apple purchased the domains iPhone.com, iPhone4.com, WhiteiPhone.com, and iCloud.com for a whopping $4 million.

The previous owner of the domain was the MP3Gold.com portal.
