Apple faces $1.5 billion in fines for trademark infringement
A Chinese court may require Apple to pay a fine of 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.5 billion) for trademark violations.
The complaint against Apple was filed by local company Proview Technology. As a reminder, yesterday it was reported that Apple was unsuccessful in its lawsuit over the iPad trademark, and its owner is now demanding a fine.
Proview Technology has owned the iPad trademark since 2000. Proview Technology's complaint was a response to Apple's claims that Proview Technology was deprived of the right to use the iPad trademark.
