Apple defended the iCloud name in court.

Apple has reached a settlement with iCloud Communications, which had previously sued Apple for illegally using the iCloud name. The claims were made several months after the launch ofiCloud cloud service.

iCloud Communications initially demanded that Apple stop using the iCloud name.

Now iCloud Communications has decided to drop its claims, change its name, and no longer pursue Apple.

Apple likely paid compensation to iCloud Communications, but the amount has not been disclosed, especially since iCloud Communications stated that it would be happy to transfer the rights to the iCloud trademark to Apple.
