Apple has filed a branding complaint against Amazon again.
Apple has filed a lawsuit against Amazon.
In a new lawsuit, Apple is seeking to block Amazon from using the Appstore name for its online software catalog.
According to company representatives, the name Appstore is reminiscent of its own Apple App Store catalog for iPhone, iPod, and iPad. Therefore, Amazon should stop using this name.
The company previously filed similar claims but later dropped their lawsuit. Now, the company's lawyers have amended their wording, claiming that Amazon "provides false information" to users, "misrepresenting the nature, characteristics, and qualities" of its online store.
