Apple wants to gain control of the iPhone5.com domain name. Apple has filed an application with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

iPhone5.com hosts a forum where service issues related to the latest iPhone models are discussed. The forum was launched in October 2010, just before the release of the latest smartphone, the iPhone 4.

Apple was able to gain control of the iPhone4.com domain only a year after the device was introduced, in October 2011. The iPhone4S.com domain was acquired at the end of 2011.
