Apple to pay $4.5 million for iCloud.com domain
Another major domain deal was announced recently.
Apple has purchased the iCloud.com domain name from Xcerion for $4.5 million. The exact date of the transaction is unknown, but it is reported to have taken place "recently."
The domain's previous owner, Xcerion, planned to host a cloud computing project on the domain. This project will now be migrated to CloudMe.com.
It's worth noting that Xcerion owns the iCloud.com trademark. However, it's currently unknown whether Apple has acquired the rights to this trademark.
