Auto.ru and Avto.ru return to court

The case between Auto.ru and Avto.ru has been returned to court. The Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow District overturned the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court and remanded the case for a retrial.

The case between the companies concerns the use of a domain name and trademark. Until a retrial, the Avto.ru Group of Companies will be unable to use its name because it is similar to the company name Avto.ru. Avto.ru registered its trade name in 1997, and the Avto.ru Group of Companies did so in 2003.

Previously, the use of the name "Auto.ru Group of Companies" was deemed illegal competition and the company was fined.
