The administrator of the Austrian national domain (.AT), NIC.AT, is preparing to become the administrator of a number of new domain zones.

The company recently announced that it plans to apply for and become the administrator of the new top-level domains BERLIN and HAMBURG.

The company is currently planning to acquire control of two more top-level domains: .VERSICHERUNG (insurance) and .REISE (travel). These two words are among the most popular search queries in German, so NIC.AT is confident in the popularity of such domains among registrants.

Previously, NIC.AT tendered for the administration of Bahrain's .BH domain.
