I-Teco created a patent search system for Rospatent

I-Teco CJSC has completed a project to expand the PatSearch patent search system and information base for the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents, and Trademarks (Rospatent). The total cost of the project was 145 million rubles.

The Federal Institute of Industrial Property was the customer for the system. Following an open tender, the companies signed a contract under which work began in 2008 and was completed in late 2010. I-Teco will also provide maintenance and technical support for the upgraded system in 2011.

Specialists have developed a unique information and analytical system. To date, the system has been loaded with over 80 million patent documents from various countries, including Russia. All patents have been standardized. The system's hardware was also upgraded, improving its performance and increasing its data storage capacity to 68 TB. The system-wide software includes platforms from leading global vendors: the FAST ESP search platform (Microsoft), Oracle DBMS, EMC Documentum, and Microsoft.

Project manager Sergei Mikheev states that the new FGU FIPS system is integrated with Rospatent's electronic document management system. This allows for searching for invention applications after their registration.

The system allows you to search for patents in five major languages: English, German, Russian, French, and Italian. The search utilizes analytical methods, such as cluster and semantic analysis of texts in various languages. These methods were developed by I-Teco.
