Banks will receive their own domain zone
Financial Services Roundtable is preparing to submit an application to ICANN for the .BANK top-level domain. Websites under the domain are planned to be owned exclusively by banking and financial institutions.
The creation of such a domain will improve the level of security for banks and increase trust in them, especially among users of online banking services.
The domain administrator promises to introduce a strict registration and control procedure for domains in the .BANK zone. Furthermore, the domain will initially use the new DNSSEC security protocol.
The domain's administrator, the Financial Services Roundtable, expects about 10,000 websites to be registered under the domain.
