The Belarusian domain is expected to change its technical administrator.

The technical administrator of the .BY domain zone is expected to change soon.

In addition, it is expected that registration of names in this domain zone will be easier.

Hoster.by recently won the tender to service the .BY domain zone, but the process of transferring the authority currently held by Open Contact to it has been delayed.

All necessary documents are currently being approved by ICANN. Hoster.by is preparing to become the administrator in January-February 2012.

The transfer of technical administrator functions to Hoster.by will entail some changes to the registration rules.

The company promises to eliminate the 30-day domain reservation, which allowed someone to submit a domain registration request but not pay for it. This rule allowed someone to submit an application and thereby lock the domain for other registrants.

According to the new rules, whoever pays for a domain name first gets it.

The launch of a WHOIS service with information about registrants is also in preparation.
