Bulgaria plans to soon apply for the Cyrillic top-level domain .БГ. ICANN previously denied the country's application for this domain.

For this reason, Bulgaria was unable to obtain a fast-track top-level domain in its national language, but is willing to try a longer application process.

The country plans to reapply for a Cyrillic domain early next year.

The main reason Bulgaria was denied the .БГ domain is that it is similar to the Brazilian .br domain.
