Bulgaria has chosen the spelling option for the Cyrillic domain

An online survey of internet users in Bulgaria has been completed, asking what the country's Cyrillic domain should be. The survey was conducted on the website of the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport.

Survey respondents named .Бг and .Бгр as the most popular domains. 30% of respondents said they preferred .Бг. However, ICANN is unlikely to approve this domain. The main reason for refusal may be that the domain is visually similar to the Brazilian domain (.БР).

The alternative domain .Бгр also received around 30% of the votes.

The survey of the country's internet users is part of the necessary procedure for launching the registration of domains in national languages.
