Chrome Browser Increases Market Share

Net Applications released its browser market analysis results in December 2009. According to the company's data, Internet Explorer remains the leader, with Firefox in second place and Google's Chrome browser in third.

The Chrome browser's share was 4.63%, while its closest competitor, Apple Safari, took 4.46% of the market.

Firefox lost ground slightly in December, settling at 24.6%. Notably, this is the third month in a row that Firefox has been losing ground.

Internet Explorer continues to lose its market share, with its share at 62.7%.

Internet Explorer lost 0.92% in December, and over the past year, Microsoft's browser has lost an average of about 0.94% per month.
