The number of malware programs in the second quarter reached a record high.

According to a report from antivirus company McAfee, a record number of malware programs were detected in the second quarter of 2010. Since the beginning of the year, more than 10 million malicious programs have been detected.

The most popular viruses were those distributed via USB drives and social media; fake antivirus software was equally dangerous. Attackers also exploited the World Cup.

McAfee specialists registered more than 55 thousand malicious programs daily.
