BIND 9 DNS server contains a critical vulnerability.
Security experts have reported the existence of a critical vulnerability in one of the most popular DNS servers on the Internet, BIND 9.
BIND 9 software creates a cache of invalid domain records, which allows the server software to be used to spoof domain addresses.
Additionally, some BIND 9 users in the US, Germany, and France have reported instances of hacker attacks exploiting such vulnerabilities.
Technically, new versions of BIND 9 have built-in protections. However, the developers rate this vulnerability as critical.
