The .FR domain and several others will be open to Europe starting December 6
On December 6, 2011, the .FR domain and several other top-level domains managed by Afnic (.WF, .TF, .RE, .PM, and .YT) will be opened to Europe. This means that EU residents will be able to register names there.
Within two years, .FR domains will become available to entities residing in the European Union.
Thus, from 6 December 2011, the domains of the French territories .WF (Wallis and Futuna), .TF (French Southern and Antarctic Territories), .RE (Réunion), .PM (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon) and .YT (Mayotte), which are managed by the administrator Afnic, will be subject to the same registration rules as the FR domain.
