The EU domain has completed the deployment of the secure DNSSEC protocol.

The European Union's top-level domain (EU) has completed the deployment of the secure DNSSEC protocol. The new protocol will prevent DNS query interception and forgery, thereby protecting users from phishing and other threats. The domain addresses a number of architectural issues in the DNS system.

The DNSSEC protocol was previously switched to.ORG domain zoneDuring the ICANN conferencerosequestions about using the secure DNSSEC protocol.

The DNSSEC protocol is used in a number of national domains, including Sweden (SE), Canada (CA), Australia (AU), Puerto Rico (PR), Bulgaria (BG), Brazil (BR), and the Czech Republic (CZ). Verisign is also preparing to transition to the DNSSEC protocol by early next year. The DNS master key (KSK), which will protect the domain name system, was recently generated. The key was created using DNSSEC technology. This key will be integratedto the root DNS zone.
