The .XXX domain saw 55,000 domains appear on its first day.

In the first 24 hours since the start of open registration, more than 55 thousand new domain names were registered in the XXX domain.

Open registration for .XXX became available on December 6th.

Priority and premium registrations for this domain took place this fall. A total of 160,000 names were registered in the porn domain during the priority, premium, and initial open registration periods.

At the same time, many domains were registered by brands not associated with the adult industry; companies registered them for subsequent blocking.

Experts estimate that ICM Registry may have earned approximately $3.3 million in revenue in its first 24 hours. Of this amount, approximately $500,000 was donated to IFFOR (International Foundation for Online Responsibility). ICM Registry pledged to donate $10 from every registered XXX domain annually to support IFFOR, a child protection nonprofit focused on combating child pornography and developing a security policy for the .XXX domain.
