6.8 thousand names are reserved in the .РФ domain

According to the National Internet Domain Coordination Center, 6,808 domain names were registered in the Cyrillic .РФ domain over the past two months. Seven percent of these were assigned to government users, and 93% to trademark owners.

More than 50% of domain names were reserved by Moscow residents.

In addition, during a press conference dedicated to the first results of domain registrations, the following data was announced: 17% of trademark names were multi-word names separated by hyphens, 13% were multi-word names written as one word, and 12% were simple words.

Priority reservations for domain names will continue until March 25, 2010. Processing of applications received during this time will continue until April 8.
