A strange list of stop words has been compiled for the .РФ domain zone.

On the eve of the start of preliminary registration of domain names in the .РФ zone, a list of so-called stop words was compiled, for which registration of domain names is prohibited.

As a reminder, domain name registration in the .РФ zone began today, November 11, at 12:00 PM Moscow time. Anyone can register a .РФ domain; registration costs range from 600 to 1,200 rubles per year.

The list of stop words was compiled by the Coordination Center for the National Domain of the Internet. It included approximately 4,000 obscene expressions. The list's creators emphasize that it was based on the Dictionary of Russian Obscene Language. However, as it later turned out, the preliminary version of the top words list also included such mundane terms as "sister.rf," "podruga.rf," and "parachute.rf." Analysts attribute this discrepancy to the computer-generated list, which included common words that share roots with obscene expressions. The Coordination Center promised that such words would be excluded from the stop list in the final version.
