Microsoft and Sony domains are occupied to protect against squatters.

A few days ago it became known that Microsoft Corporation purchased several domain names that combine the names of two companies - Microsoft and Sony, for example, Microsoft-Sony.com, Sony-Microsoft.com and several others.

After the deal was announced, reports surfaced online that the major companies were preparing a joint project or another merger, for example, to combine their efforts in the gaming console market.

To dispel any rumors, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Frank Shaw indicated on Twitter that the registration of domains combining the Sony/Microsoft names was done for self-defense purposes.

In this way, the largest software corporation tried to protect itself from the possible seizure of beautiful domain names.
