RU-CENTER domains in the Cyrillic .РФ domain zone will be blocked.

Andrey Kolesnikov, head of the Coordination Center for the National Internet Domain, has decided to block all domains in the Cyrillic .РФ domain zone registered by RU-CENTER.

These domains will no longer be usable starting tomorrow. These domains will not be transferable, and registrar contact information cannot be changed. This means that websites cannot be hosted on these domains.

The blocked domains are not those purchased by RU-CENTER for its clients, but rather those the company registered itself and put up for internal auction, as well as those for which more than two bids were submitted. Kolesnikov emphasizes that, according to the Coordination Center's rules, no other actions are permitted with domains other than registration by the first applicant.

RU-CENTER calls the "Coordination Center"'s actions illegal. The company intended to end the auction and transfer the domains to clients as part of its "domain ownership" service.

Currently, approximately 24,500 domains are being auctioned, with bidding for 2,000 already completed.
