The Russian Cyrillic domain .РФ turns two years old.

May 12, 2012, marked the two-year anniversary of the national Cyrillic domain .РФ. On May 12, 2010, the .РФ domain was included in the root zone, and free registration began on November 11, 2010.

In honor of the Cyrillic domain's second anniversary, the Coordination Center for TLD RU has published statistics on the development of .РФ. The number of names registered in .РФ is approaching 800,000, with 797,000 currently registered.

Of these, 573,948 thousand domains were delegated, which is 72% of the total number.

36% of all domains host working websites (a year ago, this figure was 20%). 11% of domain names are used for redirects. 76% of domain names are registered by individuals, 24% by legal entities.

95% of domain names are registered by Russian citizens. The leading cities in terms of the number of registered .РФ domain names are Moscow (32.5%), the Moscow region (8.8%), and St. Petersburg (8.1%).
