Another Cyrillic domain, .СРБ, will be launched in two months.

In two months, the Cyrillic domain .СРБ, delegated to Serbia in April 2011, will begin operating. This was announced by Nenad Marinkovic, a representative of the Registrar of the national domain of Serbia, at the Fourth International Conference of Administrators and Registrars of National Domains of the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe.

Serbian registrars believe that using a Cyrillic domain will make it easier for users who are not proficient in English to use the internet.

The .СРБ domain will replicate additional second-level domains currently operating in Serbia's national domain, .RS, such as .CO.RS, .ORG.RS, and .EDU.RS. Currently, 67,000 names are registered in the .RS domain.

The .СРБ domain became the second Cyrillic domain after .РФ.

ICANN currently has 36 applications for new IDNs pending.
