The company purchased the dotFacebook.com domain in 2010. Furthermore, the author discovered a YouTube video showing the company preparing to register its own New gTLD.

True, the video was uploaded several years ago by a user in the UK who is unlikely to have any connection to Facebook. Nevertheless, the idea of ​​launching a new .Facebook domain is entirely feasible.

The social network could gain a number of advantages by using this domain. First of all, it's affordable for such a large company—Facebook could likely afford the $185,000 fee. Furthermore, the social network is a popular business promotion tool and might be willing to offer its users branded domains.
