The European domain turns 4 years old

At the end of last week, the EU domain turned four years old. The number of domain names registered there exceeded 3.2 million, placing it among the top ten domain zones with the most registrations.

Currently, the domain ranks ninth among all domain zones by this parameter and fifth among national domains.

Most often, names of companies from Germany (995 thousand), the Netherlands (437 thousand), Great Britain (328 thousand), France (284 thousand) and Poland (191 thousand) are registered in this domain zone.

At the end of 2009, registration of multilingual domains using the Cyrillic and Greek alphabets began in the .EU domain zone.
