Facebook files major lawsuit against typosquatting site owners

Social network Facebook has filed a lawsuit against dozens of people for typosquatting domain names related to the social network's main domain.

This case is also interesting because the accused owners of the fake domains redirected visitors to a fake Facebook website that imitated the main service.

This type of income from typosquatter domains is becoming increasingly popular. Previously, typosquatter site owners would often simply host a parking page on the domain, which would contain pay-per-click links. Recently, many parking page service owners have been limiting earnings for typosquatter site owners.

Experts are confident that such lawsuits against domain owners who profit from typosquatting will become more frequent.
