Facebook buys domains
Last week, it was announced that Facebook had purchased the domain name FB.com. Until recently, the domain belonged to the American Farm Bureau, but the name was later acquired by a reseller selling the social network's domain.
The domain will most likely be used to roll out a new communications tool that the company unveiled a few days ago.
The social network recently purchased the FB.ME domain for its mobile version.
Email on the FB.com domain may be of interest to users primarily because it allows you to register a short address. For services like Twitter, as well as for mobile web browsing, a short address is quite important.
