Facebook has decided to register its trademark.

The social network Facebook plans to register its trademark. The company has filed an application with the Patent and Trademark Office.

The application was filed to register the rights to use the trademark on personal business cards, identification cards, and printed materials. Furthermore, the application stipulates the appearance of this trademark on special ID cards encoded using a special non-magnetic method.

If the social network receives its trademark, the law will only regulate the rules for using the word "Facebook" and its graphic image.
