According to the monthly Mobile Internet Usage Report, Facebook has become the most popular social network worldwide among Opera Mini users. In 2009, the number of unique Facebook visitors increased by 600%, allowing it to displace VKontakte from its leading position. Twitter led the growth, with the number of unique Opera Mini users visiting the microblogging service growing by 2800% in 2009.

- The number of Opera Mini users in December 2009 was 46.3 million, which is 11% more than in November and 159% more than in December 2008.
