Facebook has registered the word "Face" as a trademark.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has registered the word "Face" as a trademark for the social networking site Facebook.

Once the company pays the registration fee, the trademark will belong to the social network. The next step is for the company to publish a "Statement of Use," which will confirm that the trademark is being used commercially by the applicant.

Once the entire procedure is completed, no other company operating in the same field will be able to use this word in the names of their commercial products.

Let us recall that previously the social network Facebook filed claims against services whose names included the word "book" (Teachbook, Placebook).
