In February 2011, the final ranking of registrars was determined by the .COM.UA zone.
According to Hostmaster statistics, the ranking of Ukrainian internet domain name registrars remained virtually unchanged in February 2011. The largest number of domains registered in the second month of the year were in the .COM.UA domain zone, which determined the overall ranking of registrar companies. Overall, the second month of the year was quite successful for the market – approximately 4,200 new domain names appeared on the Ukrainian Internet, 4,100 of which were in the .COM.UA domain zone. Some regional domain zones saw a decrease in the number of domains.
The .UA domain zone
In February, the number of domains in the .UA zone increased by 160 and reached 10.9 thousand domain names.
According to Hostmaster, Internet Invest led in registrations in November, with DNS-Ukraine LLC taking second place and Service Online LLC third. Thomas Private Enterprise and Elaid Standard Limited also made it into the top five.
Places from sixth to tenth were taken by Premium Group Ukraine LLC, Ukraine-Host LLC, Center for Internet Names of Ukraine LLC, Sole Proprietor Kravchenko K.V., and Private Entrepreneur Vyacheslav Yurievich Cherkashin.
Compared to January 2011, the top 10 registrars in the .UA domain zone have been left by Freehost, Delta-X LLC, and Patent Attorneys Bureau Patentservice LTD.
Domain zone .COM.UA
The .COM.UA domain extension was the undisputed leader of the month. In February 2011, more than 4,100 new domain names were added to this domain extension. This brought the total number of domains in this extension to over 207,000.
According to February data, the leaders in terms of registrations in this domain zone remained unchanged. Internet Invest holds first place, Service Online LLC holds second place, and Freehost LLC holds third place. Allied Standard Limited LLC took fourth place, and Delta-X LLC took fifth place.
The top 10 also included the following registrars: Hostpro LLC, DNS-Ukraine LLC, Center for Internet Names of Ukraine LLC, V.V. Gubarenko, Private Enterprise, and K.V. Kravchenko, Private Entrepreneur.
The .KIEV.UA domain zone
In February 2011, the number of domains in the .KIEV.UA domain zone increased by 889.
The largest number of domains in this domain zone were registered by Internet Invest, Service Online LLC, and Freehost LLC; 4th and 5th places were taken by Delta-X LLC and Hostpro LLC.
In addition, the top 10 also included the following registrars: Allied Standard Limited LLC, DNS-Ukraine LLC, Center for Internet Names of Ukraine LLC (ua.ukrnames), Sole Proprietorship Kravchenko K.V. (ua.hvosting), and DiMedia LLC.
Overall ranking of registrars based on the results of February 2011
Taking into account the share of each domain zone in the total number of domains on the Ukrainian Internet, we can present a final table of registrars for February.
Based on the results for February, the top three Ukrainian registrars are as follows:
1. Internet Invest LLC (registrar "Names")
2. Service Online LLC (registrar NIC.UA)
3. ChP "Freehost" (hosting provider Freehost)
Fourth place was taken by Elaid Standard Limited, and fifth by Delta-X.
