February registrar rankings: two companies share the lead
Hostmaster has released its domain statistics for February. Domain growth this month is almost twice as high as in January. While in January 2010, the number of new domains was only 4,700, in February, over 9,000 new domains were registered. The total number of domains (second- and third-level) in the .UA territorial domain was 497,944, while the number of names in the .UA zone (second-level domains) increased by only 202, reaching 8,822,000.
The number of domains in the .UA zone increased by 202 in January, a growth rate of 2.34%. By the end of February, 8,800 domains were registered in this domain zone.
Internet Invest remains the leader in the number of registrations in the .UA second-level domain. DNS-Ukraine LLC holds a strong second place, while Valentin Vyacheslavovich Solovyov, a sole proprietor, is third. Service Online LLC is fourth in this domain zone, and Thomas Private Enterprise is fifth.
The remaining five places were taken by the following registrars: Elaid Standard Limited LLC, Geonik Net LLC, Freehost Private Enterprise, Ukraine-Host LLC, and Hostpro LLC.
- Data on the COM.UA domain zone
In February 2010, the number of new names in the .COM domain zone increased by 4,094, a growth rate of 2.5%. The total number of domains here is more than 167 thousand.
The leaders in this domain zone have not changed: Internet Invest leads in this domain by number of registrations, with Service Online LLC in second place and Freehost Private Enterprise in third. Elaid Standard Limited LLC and Hostpro LLC also made it into the top five. These five registrars, along with the same composition, also held the top positions in January.
The remaining five places were taken by the following registrars: DNS-Ukraine LLC, V.V. Gubarenko CHP, Vyacheslav Yuryevich Cherkashin CHP, Roman Viktorovich Varshavsky SPD, and 1 Gb LLC.
- Data on the KIEV.UA domain zone
In the .KIEV.UA domain zone, the number of names increased by 848 or 2%, reaching a total of 42.2 thousand.
The top three registrars in this domain zone are Internet Invest, Service Online LLC, and Freehost. DNS-Ukraine LLC is in fourth place, and Allied Standard Limited LLC is in fifth place—there have been no changes here either.
The following registrars took sixth through tenth place, respectively: Hostpro, Delta-X, SPD Kravchenko Konstantin Vladimirovich, OOO 1 Gb, and Farlep-Invest.
