Individuals own 70% of names in Russian domains

According to Openstat, the top 10 Russian hosting providers serve nearly a million domains in the Russian .RU and .РФ domains.

Masterhost hosts the most Russian domains—over 203,000. Garant-Park-Telecom is second with 120,000, and SpaceWeb is third with 111,000.

Hetzner, Ru-Center, Avguro Technologies, AGAVA, Majordomo, Infobox, and Reg.Ru were also named as the largest Russian hosting providers. Foreign hosting companies account for 10% of the Russian market.

The total number of names registered in the .RU domain exceeds 3.4 million, and in .РФ – more than 888 thousand.

Over the past year, the number of .RU domains has increased by 15%, while the .РФ domain has grown by 2% per month. Over 80% of domain names in the .RU and .РФ domains are registered by residents of the Russian Federation.
